As general counsel and EVP of Business Affairs, Gabriel Brakin oversees all film financing and investments, plays a key role in shaping and implementing strategic business initiatives and manages the business and legal affairs team conducting negotiations for all of Participant’s film and digital content, marketing, and social impact as well as cross-platform creative and distribution activities. He also oversees intellectual property, corporate matters and compliance issues.
Brakin joined Participant in 2008 as vice president, Business and Legal Affairs. Prior to Participant, Brakin was an entertainment and media transactions attorney in the Century City office of O’Melveny & Myers LLP. Prior to O’Melveny, Brakin served as a law clerk to the Honorable A. Wallace Tashima of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
Brakin serves on the board of directors of the Constitutional Rights Foundation and holds a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, and B.A. in Political Science from UCLA.
