An Inconvenient Sequel still from film

LOS ANGELES (April 13, 2017) An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power will screen at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival in the Special Screenings section.

More than a decade after Oscar-winning An Inconvenient Truth brought the climate crisis into the heart of popular culture, comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution.

Former Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight, traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes – in moments both private and public, funny and poignant – as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.

The documentary is directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, produced by Richard Berge, Jeff Skoll and Diane Weyermann, and executive produced by Davis Guggenheim, Lawrence Bender, Laurie David, Scott Z. Burns, and Lesley Chilcott.

In 2006, An Inconvenient Truth screened at Cannes, and went on to receive two Academy Awards® (Best Documenarty Feature and Original Song).

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the festival, which will be held May 17-28.
