Karen is responsible for overseeing the company’s grassroots marketing and social action campaigns for its film releases, working with faith-based, religious, educational and civic organizations, and coordinating her efforts with the film distributors’ field teams. She is the point person for Participant’s alliance with Me to We, a Toronto-based commercial enterprise promoting a socially responsible, globally-focused approach to living for young people.
Karen joined Participant in 2005 as Executive Assistant to Participant President Ricky Strauss, having worked with Ricky at his Sony Pictures-based independent production company, Ricochet Entertainment. Prior to that, Karen worked at New Line Cinema in production.
Karen is a graduate of Emerson College, where she earned her BA in Film.
Karen is the co-chair of the Israel/Judaic committee of the Entertainment Division of the Jewish Federation. She is also on the Board of 4 Sight 4 Children, a non-profit organization which helps to aid families from all parts of the world that lack financial resources to undergo crucial eye surgery.
