Wendy joined the Participant Media family in November of 2007 as the Manager of Community and Alliances. She is responsible for growing and managing the TakePart.com community and overseeing outreach to online partners. She also launched the TakePart.com blog and is currently its managing editor.
Wendy was born and raised in Montreal and graduated first in her class from Concordia University's Communications and Culture Studies program. She lived in London and Seville before moving to New York in 2003 as a full-time intern for Women Make Movies. Following her internship, she joined Arts Engine, Inc. in 2004 as the Outreach Coordinator and programmer of their Media That Matters film festival and Media That Matters: Good Food project. Wendy was a research and creative assistant for the The Art of the Documentary (New Riders Press, 2005) and served a co-chair on the Urban Pathways Young Professional Board. In February 2006, Wendy co-founded Screening Liberally and is currently the National Director and part of the National Leadership of Living Liberally. Later that year, she became the first Community Manager at the Huffington Post where she developed and managed various film and new media projects. She produced her first short documentary film about bees in 2008 which has been hailed as a “better bee movie” by New York Magazine and has received awards from the Clif Bar Family Foundation and W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
