Laurie Luh

Director of Human Resources

Laurie Luh joined Participant Media in July 2004.  She has been responsible for helping to grow the company from a handful of employees at its inception to its current staff of over 40.

Laurie began her career at MBNA America Bank in Newark, Delaware where she supported new hire and ongoing education.  During this time Fortune magazine ranked MBNA one of the top companies to work for in the United States.  Laurie also spent time at Fox Broadcasting in Los Angeles where she worked in Current Programming on such shows as House, That 70s Show and The Bernie Mac Show.

Laurie received her B.A. from the University of Delaware, where she majored in English with a concentration in Film.

She supports animal causes such as and The Amanda Foundation and the Bill Foundation.  Laurie also plans to run her first marathon next year for Run for Mobility. 

What was your first job? My first real job was as a hostess in Delaware at a local restaurant.   I was only 15!  The owner use to make me tell everyone that the wait to be seated was only 10 minutes when actually sometimes it was up to an hour.  I only lasted there for about 3 months.

If you could change one thing about yourself or the world, what would it be? If I could change one thing about me it would be to not put so much pressure on myself to finish everything so quickly.  The good stuff is in the details.  I don’t want to miss anything.  If I could change one thing about the world I would like to see all of us become more open minded and not only accept our differences, but see the value in diversity.

Who or what is your greatest inspiration?  Everyday heroes are my greatest inspiration.  There are so many people out there that stretch their boundaries to aid a total stranger.   These unsung heroes can change the landscape of our world without ever being recognized for their efforts
