Jeff Ivers

Executive Vice President - Business Affairs

Before joining Participant, Jeff Ivers served first as Chief Financial Officer, then Chief Operating Officer for the Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA).

At MPCA, he created the business plan, installed an infrastructure, and was directly involved in the financing and production of over forty motion pictures, including DUMB AND DUMBER, BEVERLY HILLS NINJA, THREESOME, EIGHT HEADS IN A DUFFEL BAG, GANG RELATED, and IF LUCY FELL. He served as a producer on fifteen MPCA films and played a central role in the sale of MPCA to Metromedia’s Orion Pictures, where he served as Executive Vice President of Motion Picture Finance and Distribution.

In 1989, he co-founded Triton Pictures, an award-winning theatrical distributor of foreign-language, art-house, and documentary fare, including THE HAIRDRESSER’S HUSBAND, A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME, TOTO LE HÉROS, and HEARTS OF DARKNESS. In 1993 he was a founder of New Mind Communications, a speaker’s bureau featuring new paradigm thinkers.

An eight-year stint in Arthur Andersen’s New York office gave him substantial experience in the non-profit sector, serving many charitable organizations including the American Cancer Society. Afterward, Jeff's career in the entertainment industry began when he joined MGM in 1982 as Corporate Controller of its Home Entertainment Group, and later Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration for MGM/UA Telecommunications (world-wide video and TV distribution).

Jeff has been directly involved in the production or distribution of over seventy feature films, and has received Executive Producer credits on more than twenty. He holds a B.S. in economics from the City University of New York and is a C.P.A. He has served as a consultant for the Public Broadcasting Service, United Artists, LIVE Entertainment, and Catch 23 Entertainment.

First job: I started working Sundays, then summers, in an eyeglass factory in lower Manhattan with my Dad when I was twelve. I worked in a sweatshop with men, I had the time of my life, and they paid me. I learned what it takes for men to make a living and support their families.

What he would change about the world: I wish that the inhabitants were more conscious. It wouldn't matter if it were religious, spiritual, or intellectual. Conscious people wouldn't make the mess that we face.
