WV Public Broadcasting's Story on Feed to Achieve includes interviews with Lori Silverbush and Janet Poppendieck of 'A Place at the Table'

Child hunger experts commend Senate's efforts with Feed to Achieve

April 10, 2013 · After the passage of a resolution to study the access to affordable housing across the state, the Senate Select Committee on Children and Poverty heard from two experts in a field the group has committed to working to change child hunger. “What we are starting to see is that people around the nation are seeing this as a moment in time when they can have some agency and do something.”

Lori Silverbush is a filmmaker from New York who co-directed and produced ‘A Place at the Table,’ a documentary focused on food insecurity in the United States. According to the film, nearly 50 million people in the country, one in four children, suffer from food insecurity, which means they don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
